RS232C is a standard communication interface designed for -12 V and
+12 V signal levels. The maximum transmission distance depends
on the
transmission speed but at 9600 Baud is at lean
40
meters.
Handshaking
with
the terminal is either via the signals RTS-CTS or
with
XON-XOFF.
If RS232C is used. terminals or other control systems
can
be connected to
the 12-pole screw terminal (designed primarily for RS232C and telephone
modem) or
the
%-pole connector on
the
communication board. The 34-pole
flat cable can
also
be split for connecting two RS232C interfaces. The
connections
are as
