Section 1. Introduction - Overview of Product 1.1 Introduction RFL is proud to introduce the 3200 MK-10 Managed Ethernet Switch. Designed to operate in harsh substation environments the managed switch provides eight 10/100 Base TX RJ-45 electrical ports and two 10/100/1000 Base TX RJ-45 electrical ports with parallel SFP cages.
• 4 - 10/100 Base-TX or 100 Base-FX optical Ethernet ports. Power Supply. The Power supply converts input power from a station battery or other power source into an isolated low voltage supply used by the 3200 MK-10 circuitry. (See Section 3.3) External Power Connections.

Attempted service by unauthorized personnel shall render all warranties null and void. If problems are experienced with this product please contact RFL using the contact information below for assistance.
The unit is intended to be permanently connected to supply mains by properly rated wiring in accordance with applicable local and national codes (e.g. CEC, NEC etc). Warning! EMI immunity and environmental requirements as mission critical protective relaying devices. The reliability of the RFL 3200 MK-10 exceeds that of a commercial Ethernet Switch by having no fans for cooling. 10 Mb/s data transfer 3.3 Power Supply The power supply for the RFL 3200 MK-10 is built onto the main circuit board and must be specified by the customer at order entry. See ordering information, decoding the part number page vii The RFL 3200 MK-10 power supply provides an isolated power source for the MK-10 circuitry, with surge suppression and voltage conversion.
3.4 User Access USB Port The user can connect to the RFL 3200 MK-10 via a USB (Universal Serial Bus) port on the front of the unit. A laptop or PC is used to communicate with and configure the unit through a CLI interface.

3200-MK-10 4.3 Mounting the Equipment The RFL 3200 MK-10 is primarily designed for installation in a 1U rack, however it can also function in an office or lab environment un-mounted. Mounting ears (brackets) are provided for installation in a standard 19 inch rack. Optionally, DIN rail and wall mounting can be accommodated.

Installation 4.3.3 Wall Mounting Brackets are provided to mount the RFL 3200 MK-10 to a wall as shown below. Attach the brackets with the screws provided Figure 4-3. Wall Mounting Because of the many different wall materials available, RFL does not provide wall mounting hardware.
4.5 Power and Ethernet Connections The following section will give instructions on making data, alarm relay and power connections to the RFL 3200 MK-10. Before beginning the installation note the following: • Before proceeding with the connection of power and alarm relay (if required) connections to the RFL3200 MK-10 ensure that the power and alarm relay wires to be installed are disconnected at their source.

5.2 Accessing the 3200 MK-10 through the USB Port To access the USB port on the 3200 MK-10 with a laptop computer, a USB cable is required with a type “B” connector at the Ethernet Switch end; this is not supplied by RFL.

The 3200 MK-10 can be configured through a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. The 3200 MK-10 starts with a default IP address, which is also the management IP address. This IP address is essentially provided for remote management of the switch. For managing the switch through Web browsers, enter the default IP address to start accessing the switch.
