Turning On and Accessing

Plug in the power cord, and connect an Ethernet cable to the G4100 and a network
outlet.

Press the On/Off button.

If you have a DHCP server on your network, the G4100 automatically connects and
receives an IP address. If you don't have a DHCP server, assign an IP address.

Connect a PC to the G4100's serial port.

Open HyperTerminal, and connect to the G4100 with the following settings:
VT100, 8 data bits, No parity, 1 stop bit.

At the SAC prompt, send the following command, and press Enter:
i < netnumber > < g4100ip > < sub-net >
where netnumber is the network number for the G4100, g4100ip is the IP
address, and sub-net is the subnet mask.

Exit HyperTerminal, and disconnect the PC from the serial port.
On your PC, launch the Remote Desktop client to access the G4100 desktop. For help
with the Remote Desktop client, see the documentation for your Windows operating
system. To identify the G4100, use the IP address or the logical name (the default logical
name is gsaserialnumber where serialnumber is the serial number of the G4100, which is
on the front of the G4100). If a security screen appears, enter administrator in the User
Name field and intermec in the Password field, and click OK. You must type Intermec
in lowercase letters.

    Locate the two rack handles, two rack ears, and eight screws that shipped with the G4100. Secure the rack handles to the front of the rack ears. Secure the rack ears to the right and left sides of the G4100 over the security panel Plugging In the Power Cord plates.
