1. Test –20 dB
2. RF input
3. Adjustment - Gain input
4. Adjustment - Tilt input
1. Connect a signal level meter to the incoming RF-cable and check
the levels. Of importance is that the flatness is as good as possible (ie
the same level for low and high frequencies) and that the levels are
above the minimum input level (see table below). If the input levels are
too low it's necessary to install a preamplifier.
2. Connect the RF signal to the amplifier's input port.
3. Connect the power cord to the power port.
4. Connect a TV-cable (TVB-01) to one of the outputs and adjust the
signal levels with input gain-, tilt- and output controls in min positions
(turned maximum to the left). Check that the levels are below maximum
output levels (see table below). If the levels are too high adjust with the
input gain control but not below minimum output level.
5. Make an overall cable loss calculation per output port (appr. 8 dB
per 10 meter of cable at 860 MHz).
6. Connect the signal level meter to the outputs and adjust the levels,
with respective output gain control, reflecting the cable loss calculation.
7. Connect the patch cables (CAT5/CAT6) to the RJ-45 ports. Do not
take away the pre installed terminators from the ports that are not going
to be used.
8. Connect the TV-cables (TVB-01) to the RJ-45 outlets and check the
levels and the flatness of the frequency band. If needed adjust the flat-
ness with the "tilt" control.
9. Check the signal level in the TV-cables IEC connector and if neces-
sary fine adjust at the amplifiers output gain controls. Normal signal
level to the TV-receiver is 60-80 dBµV (for analogue TV) and 50-70 dBµV
(for digital TV).
