  • Page 3 The unit provides all the functions required to operate PTZ cameras and speed domes, with the ability to program presets and camera settings using the on screen display. The same unit can be used to remotely operate and configure any of the Symphony range of DVRs.

Communication connector RS232. (Not supported). RS485 Data Buss : RJ45. RS485 Connections Please read the operation manual of the keyboard and the speed dome carefully before connecting wires.
  • Page 5 Set Protocol The Symphony Keyboard can be used to control up to 255 compatible RS485 devices e.g. speed dome cameras and Symphony DVR’s (max 4). Determine the Protocol and Baud Rate in use with the devices to be connected and assign these settings to the Keyboard using the MODE switch settings as shown below.
  • Page 6 Configure The DVR When using the Keyboard to control and operate the Symphony DVR, ensure the ID of the DVR does not conflict with those of the speed domes. Using the DVR, acess the Main Menu then select the System Settings menu.

Press ENTER to select and access the Time Search set Use the UP, DOWN, LEFT and RIGHT arrows to highlight the ‘Day’ box, press ENTER to select. The 2 digits denoting the Day will now be available for editing - the first digit will be highlighted. The LEFT and RIGHT arrows can now be used to move along and highlight the digit to be changed - when selected, the UP and DOWN buttons are used to increment that number.
  • Page 18 Event Search Press SEARCH to access the search menu. Press the DOWN arrow to highlight Event Search. Press ENTER to select and access the Event Search set Use the Navigation buttons to set the ‘Time Window’ of interest using the same method as described previously (see Time Search).
  • Page 19 Playback Press PLAY and the unit will start to playback all the recorded images. (from the first available footage). Following selection of Time Search or Event Search, press PLAY and the unit will start to playback the recorded images for the period selected. Use the FF and REW buttons to Fast Scan forward or backward through the recorded footage.

    PTZ Operation PTZ Control The function of the push buttons on the Keyboard are dependent on the mode of operation selected. The Text above each button denotes its function when using for PTZ control. Quick Reference : CALL - Call the preset position. PRESET - Set the preset position.
