    The installed hard disk drive’s capacity is 2GB, but available drive capacity does not contain the space used up by the system.     FV3000 3. Installation and Inspection The FV3000 can be placed horizontally or vertically, by using the provided floor mounted fittings. The 19-inch rack with EIA/JIS standard (height of 4U) can also be installed. In that case, user setting of the slide rails to be attached to the side of 19-inch rack (EIA/JIS standard) makes it easier to store or take out the system.

    FV3000 3.2 Fastening Mounting Fittings The FV3000 can be installed horizontally or vertically by using the attached mounting fittings. ■In the case of installing the system vertically: (1) Turn off the system’s power switch. (2) Unplug all the cables from the system. (3）Turn the machine upside down to place the rubber feet facing up.

    FV3000 3.3 Slide Rail Mounting User setting of the slide rails (optional) to be attached to the side of the rack makes it easier to store or take out the system. （1）Turn off the system’s power switch. （2）Unplug all the cables from the system. （3）Fasten the mounting bracket for slide rails to both side of the machine tightly using the provided screws.

    Up to the input voltage of 125V, use the power cable and a 3P-2P conversion adapter (when being used in Japan) supplied by FAST, to prevent electrical shock and fire. Connect the main plug to the AC outlet with a protective ground terminal.

    FV3000 3.5 Daily Inspection The components may deteriorate due to heat, humidity, dust, frequent operation or other factors, and that can result in an accident. Check the following during daily inspection. Caution The fan of the FV3000 has a large air intake. Inspect the fan at least once every 6 months. If the dust filter is not clean or clogged, clean or replace it.

    FV3000 3.6 Saving Data 【 FV3000-DOS 】 Unlike a hard disk (HDD), a flash file unit (CompactFlash Card) has no mechanical parts and therefore is highly reliable. However, the programs and data files may be lost if power is turned off or the device malfunctions while data is accessed.

    FV3000 4．Names of Parts 4.1 Appearance Front Panel Air Intake with filter Rear Panel Ventilation Holes 4.1.1 Air Intake & Ventilation Holes The air intake is a vent for cooling parts in the machine. As the CPU and the frame grabber generate a large amount of heat, make sure that the fan is running.

    Function of POWER Switch 【 FV3000-W2K 】 The POWER switch is equivalent to a general computer power switch. If you press this switch while the power switch on the rear is ON, it will turn OFF the system. In this case, press the POWER switch again to restart the system.

    Basically, this panel is opened and closed at our factory, but there is a case that we ask users to open or close it to inspect the system for problems. Note that this panel is not equipped with the FV3000-W2K. Caution Behind the maintenance panel, the Flash File Unit (CompactFlash Card) is installed.

    FV3000 4.3.2 Power Connector Input voltage, frequency and maximum electric power consumption are 100-240V～, 50-60Hz, Max.600VA respectively. Connect the supplied 3P power cable to this connector to supply power up to 125V. Please provide another cable when connecting to a power source over 125V. Refer to “2.3 How to Turn OFF the System”about turning OFF the power.

    FV3000 4.3.5 Parallel Link Port(P-LINK) 【 FV3000-DOS 】 The Parallel Link (P-LINK) supports high speed communication with the host PC to download data at high speed when developing software. We call this "P-LINK". This port uses hardware which is defined as a printer port. The following chart describes the printer port description such as direction, signal name and signal description.

    If you try to remove or install a board with the power ON or with any of the cables connected, CMOS settings may be destroyed, or the circuits of the board or the machine may be damaged due to micro currents. If a board other than the one specified by FAST is installed, problems like those described below may occur.

    FV3000 5.2 How to Open the Main Unit Cover Remove the two screws on the rear panel, allowing you to slide open the cover. (1) Turn OFF the POWER switch of the FV3000 (2) Disconnect all the cables from the FV3000. (3) Remove the screws as shown below.
