Application of the air splint

First apply the hand air splint (see instruction for
the hand air splint).

Inflate the elbow air splint with
the
zip
placed
on
(anterior aspect) of the elbow
joint.

Gather the excess plastic into
your hand so that the zip lies flat
against the front of the client's
elbow. Slowly release your grasp
on the splint as it inflates. This
ensures that a large cushion of
air lies over the back of the
elbow joint.
