Using the Tascam PB-32P:
a Half-Normalled Patch Bay
– Line Out (Play) –
from CD, DAT, etc.
Signal flows from the top jack in the back to the bottom jack in the back. Therefore, no patch
cables are required in the front jacks for typical playback operation.
– Line Out (Play) –
from CD, DAT, etc.
– Line In –
to Soundboard
– Line In –
to Tape, MD, etc.
Like in the "Typical Patch" example, the signal flows from the top jack in the back to the bottom
jack in the back. However, in this special patch setup, the signal also flows from the top jack in the front
through a patch cable to the "Line In" of the device you wish to record onto. To record from the
soundboard, simply run a patch cable from the "C/ROOM Out" on the patch bay to the "Line In" of
the device you wish to record onto like in the above picture.
Note: If headphones are plugged into the PHONES jack on the soundboard,
the signal to "C/ROOM Out" is cut off!!
Special Patch (Adding an External Device to the Sound System for Playback)
– Line Out (Play) –
from CD, DAT, etc.
– Line In –
to Soundboard
This special patch setup is useful if you wish to temporarily introduce a new component to the
sound system.
Note: Inserting a cable in the bottom jack in the front jack disconnects the
signal flow from the top jack in the back to the bottom jack in the back.
