Safety Instructions Personnel operating and maintaining the device must be familiar with all aspects of its operation and be proficient in maintenance. Such Personnel should review the following precautions to promote safety awareness. General • Always refer to the manual before operating or maintaining the equipment. • Observe all WARNINGS, CAUTIONS and NOTES. • Do not open the device. In case of technical problems please contact Tendring Pacific. • Do not cover the machine with a cloth or piece of plastic to protect it from dust, as this prevents free air circulation around the machine and might lead to overheating and errors in the sensor read‐out. • Do not expose the equipment to heavy moisture or heat and keep it away from direct sunlight. • Never short circuit or remove safety devices. Installation • To ensure the best installation with the least technical problems, please install equipment as described in the manual. • Never install the equipment in explosive environments. • Always use correct fittings when connecting gas from the gas bottle. • Provide adequate space around the equipment for proper ventilation. • The units are Class 1 appliances and must be connected to an earthed mains connection. • It is the responsibility of the owner and operator(s) of the equipment, that the installation is made in accordance with local rules and regulations. • When installing the equipment it is necessary to ensure proper ventilation in the room ...
Cleaning and Maintenance General Caution ! Personnel performing any maintenance or cleaning must familiarize themselves with the “Safety Instructions” before attempting any of these procedures. Cleaning All of the device’s surfaces must only be cleaned using a mild soap solution and a soft wrung cloth. Caution ! Never use hard tools or abrasive materials when cleaning any part of the device. Warning ! Never use cleaning agents containing any kind of acid. These constitute a health hazard and could damage the instrument. 3 7 March 2013 Revision 1 ...
CheckPoint II Maintenance In addition to Annual Service & Calibration, it is recommended to carry out the following Maintenance checks at the interval times stated below. Every Day: Measuring gas hose, filter and needle (See instruction no. 1) Check/Replace Offset (20.9% O2) calibration (see instruction no.2) Perform the offset calibration of the O₂ sensor before starting measurements. Instruction no. 1 ‐ Replacing measuring gas hose, filter and needle During use of the device, dust will over time be sucked through the measuring gas system. 4 7 March 2013 Revision 1 ...

Measuring gas filter The Filter (before serial no. 81121048 – part no. 251395, serial no. 81121048 onwards part no. 980022) will have to be replaced regularly depending on the environment in which the device is used. Needle The needle may sometimes touch the product being measured or the needle may suck fluid from the packaging from which the measurement is taken. If this happens, it will be necessary to replace both the ...

Note! As a minimum, a weekly offset calibration is required to retain the 12 months calibration intervals! Also when moving the device from cold to warm temperatures or vice versa, you should allow the device to stabilize for approx. 10‐15 minutes, then perform offset (20.9%) calibration of the O₂ sensor right before each measurement series until the device has stabilized. This will bring the calibration back in line with the current response. To make offset (20.9%) calibration do the following:‐ 1. Place the needle on the table next to the device to make sure that it measures the surrounding O₂ content. 2. From the measuring screen ….. 7: Ham 200 gr. Ready Press key to enter the Main menu. Main menu 3. Use or key to scroll to the Calibration screen. Main menu ...

4. Press to enter calibration function 20.95% CO : 0.00% CO : 100.00% 5. Use or key to select O2: 20.95% calibration. 6. Press to start calibration. O : 20.95% 20.9 Calibrate: Yes The pump will start and the display will continuously show the measured O2 content. 7. When measurement has stabilized, press to calibrate sensor to the ...

Errors If an error occurs during operation or calibration, an error screen appears:‐ An error is identified by the number (ex. 2801) Few of the errors may be caused by the user. These are listed below as “User errors”. All other errors are divided into groups and listed as “Device errors” User Errors No. Error Remedy • Make sure that the needle sucks only 502 O₂ sensor calibration failed. Calibration result is not Atmospheric air when performing a 20.9% stored. O₂ calibration. • If the error repeats, turn device completely The sensor output indicates that a gas far away from off (remove device from power supply and 20.9% O₂ is supplied, eg. Pure press I/O for approx. 5 secs) • If the error occurs again when calibrating, the N₂ or 80% O₂ device must be sent in for service. • Make sure that the needle sucks only the 2801 CO₂ sensor calibration failed. The 0.0% CO₂ calibration correct gas when performing a 0.0% CO₂ ...

• Make sure that the needle sucks only the 2802 CO₂ sensor calibration failed. The 100.0% CO₂ calibration correct gas when performing a 100.0% CO₂ failed. Calibration result is not calibration. • If the error repeats, turn device completely stored. The sensor output indicates that a gas with a off (remove device from power supply and concentration below 50% CO₂ press I/O for approx. 5 secs.) • If the error occurs again when calibrating, the supplied. device must be sent in for service. No. Error 101 to 199 Product error All errors in this may cause that products are not handled correct. Alarm lights, measure time, and also the product list displayed in the Checkpoint II may be affected. 501 to 599 O₂ sensor error Check the “User errors”. Other errors indicate other problems with calibration data for the O₂ sensor. These errors may have influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. 601 to 699 Pressure gauge error The pressure sensor is used for compensation of O₂ sensor reading (and CO₂ sensor if installed) These errors may have influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. ...

These errors have no influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. 1600 to 1699 Real time clock error Battery backup Real‐time clock is not working. Every log (data collection) is stored with a timestamp. This may be incorrect. When transferring data collections to the Checkpoint II PC software, collected data may be inserted into the data base with wrong timestamps, thus corrupting correct historical order of logged data. These errors have no influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. 2001 to 2199 Beep error Beeper may not work correct. These errors have no influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. 2201 to 2299 Display Software for handling of display contrast is not working. These errors have no influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. 2501 to 2599 USB Data Transfer All data interchange between Checkpoint II PC Software is handled by a “USB data Transfer” module in the Checkpoint II. This module has reported an error. It may not be possible to establish a connection between Checkpoint II and Checkpoint II PC software. These errors have no influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. 2601 to 2699 Scanner error Scanner has detected an error. Scanner may not operate correctly. These errors have no influence on O₂ (and CO₂) readings. 2801 to 2899 CO₂ sensor error Check the “User errors”. Other errors indicate other problems with calibration data for the CO₂ sensor. These errors may have influence on O₂ and CO₂ readings. ...
