  • Page 5 Directions for opening the cardboard box (1) Remove the cover of the cardboard box. Cut the plastic band and remove the cover of the cardboard box. (2) Remove the included items. Remove all of the included items. (3) Remove the side cover of the cardboard box, and then remove the upper cover of the cardboard box.

  • Page 14 Connecting the Binding Finisher to the upstream unit (1) Remove the screw from the DFD docking bracket. Remove the screw. Pull it forward. (2) Connect the unit to the upstream unit. (3) Lock the connector and secure it. Push the lever all the way inward. Secure it with a screw.

  • Page 16 If there is any downstream finishing unit after the Max binder, it is imperative that you perform the following procedure. (1) Press the power switch to turn on the power and close the front door. Set this to the up position.

If this is set to any other selection you will get a message on the varioPRINT UI “Check Max Binder” (7) Press the ESC key 2 times, and check if "Bind", "Bypass" or "Punch" is displayed in the LCD to complete the procedure.
  • Page 18 How to Adjust the Alignment (1) Separate the upstream unit and the Binding Finisher. (See page 13.) (2) Remove screw 1 from the DFD docking bracket and loosen screws 2, 3, and 4. (3) Slide the DFD docking bracket to the back side and the front side, and align it with the center. (4) Tighten 3 screws (screw 2, 3, and 4), and see page 13 to connect the unit to the upstream unit.
