To troubleshoot a Vanner LIFESTAR 20-1050CUL-DC inverter with an off light, a flashing bulk light, and no power output, do the following:
1. Check utility power – A flashing light may indicate that utility (shore) power is present. 2. Check GFCI – Reset the Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) on the receptacle. 3. Check battery connections – Ensure battery terminals are secure and free of corrosion. 4. Check DC fuses – Inspect and replace blown DC fuses if utility power is off. 5. Check battery voltage – Recharge the battery if voltage is below 10.5 VDC. 6. Check for poor DC wiring – Inspect for loose or corroded DC connections. 7. Check for heavy DC load – Reduce load if it is causing voltage dips.
These steps address issues indicated by flashing LEDs and a lack of power output.

No, the Vanner LIFESTAR 20-1050CUL-DC operates as a 12 VDC to 120 VAC inverter, meaning it primarily runs on a 12V DC power source, such as a deep-cycle battery. However, it has an AC input for battery charging and includes a transfer relay that requires a DC source to function. It does not need to be continuously connected to a 120-volt outlet to operate as an inverter.
