Accelerator Pedal "Kickdown" Click System
2009 Accord Euro has adopted the Accelerator Pedal "Kickdown" Click System so that
the kickdown may be conducted as intended by the driver.
The system determines the shift down points precisely for better kickdown control
during high-speed driving. The kickdown component provides the driver with manual
feedback only.
If one of the following works has been performed, the system must be subjected to the
initial learning process. For details, please refer to S/M.
* Insufficient initial learning can cause the kickdown to be triggered before kickdown

click is issued.
[Works requiring initial learning]
• Replace ECM/PCM
• Reset ECM/PCM
• Update ECM/PCM
• Replace or remove battery
• Replace or remove accelerator pedal module
• Kickdown timing and click timing is out of synchronization
[Procedure for initial learning]
1. Turn the ignition to IG ON (II). * Do not start the engine.
2. Shift lever P or N
3. Press the accelerator pedal until touch the floor for at least 5
seconds.

4. Make sure the shift lever is in P. If the shift lever in N, move the
shift lever from N to P.
5. Start the engine. Test-drive the vehicle to check that a problem
does not occur on the accelerator pedal kickdown click system.
