Safety precautions
These safety precautions are provided for your protection. Please read and follow them carefully to avoid
unnecessary injury and damage to the product itself or other properties.
■The following symbols differentiate the levels of danger and injury that may result if the product is not
used specifically as instructed.
This symbol indicates that
improper handling may
WARNING
cause a risk of death or
serious injury.
■This manual uses a number of other symbols to indicate additional information for a particular item.
(The symbols given below are examples.)
This symbol indicates an action that must
not be performed.
To prevent accidents
such as fires and
electric shocks.
■ Do not pull on the power cord when
carrying or storing away the unit.
(It may damage
the wires inside the
cord, and fire or
electric shocks may
occur.)
■ Do not do anything that may damage
the power cord or power plug.
Power cord must not be damaged,
modify, bend excessively, pull, twist or
wrap into a bundle. Also, do no place
heavy objects on top of it or clamp in.
(If damaged power cord is being used,
electric shock or fire may occur.)
Consult with distributors to carry out any
repairs.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualified
persons in order to avoid a hazard.
■ Do not insert or pull out the power
plug with wet hands.
(Electric shocks may
occur.)
■ Do not stop the unit by pulling
out the power plug.
(Fire or electric shocks may occur.)
Attention
If any of the following conditions occur, turn off the unit and contact with the dealer or service center immediately.
If any of the switches doesn't work.
If the circuit breaker is tripped or a fuse blows.
If the power cord or plug becomes abnormally hot.
If you notice a burning smell or an abnormal sound or vibration.
If the power supply cuts in and out when the power cord is moved.
If water leaks from the unit.
If there is any other abnormality or malfunction.

Always observe these precautions
This symbol indicates that

WARNING
■ Do not use overloaded wall socket
or wiring equipment, and do not use
a power supply other than 220V AC.
(If the wall socket is overloaded, fire due
to overheating may occur.) [Maximum
power consumption: 720 W]
■ Do not stretch the power cord while
the unit is in use.
(It may cause shortcircuits
or broken wires which
may cause in fire or
electric shocks to occur.)
■ Do not insert fingers or other
objects into the air inlet, air outlets
or any other gaps.
(The contact with the inside of the product
may cause an electric shock or injury.)
■ Do not insert fingers or any other
long objects inside the air outlets.
(If such objects touch the fan inside the
unit, injury may occur.)
■ Do not disassemble or modify this
unit.
(Fire or electric shocks may occur.) Consult
with distributors to carry out any repairs.
■ Do not place the unit near a heat
source.
(Plastic parts may melt and cause fire.)
■ Do not let the cool air blow directly
on you for a long time.
(You may catch a cold or otherwise impair
your health.)
WARNING
■ Insert the power plug thoroughly.
(If the power plug is not inserted securely, electric shock or fire due to overheating may occur.)
Do not use damaged power plugs or loose wall sockets.
■ Periodically clean the power plug.
If dust builds up on the power plug, humidify may cause damage to insulation and may result in fire.
Disconnect the power plug and wipe it with dry cloth.
If no using the unit for long period, disconnect the power plug.
■ Be sure to disconnect the power plug before cleaning the unit.
(The unit may start operating unexpectedly and electric shock may occur.)
CAUTION
Do not put the unit in the following
places:
Places which are tilted, unstable or high above
the floor
(The unit may fall down or tip over, and injury, water
damage to household items, current leakage, fire or
electric shocks may occur.)
Confined spaces such as closets
(If there is insufficient ventilation, overheating and
fire may occur.)
Places which are exposed to direct sunlight,
wind or rain or near water
(Fire or electric shocks may occur.)
Places where heating appliances are directly
exposed to air from the air outlets (Incomplete
combustion in the appliances may cause carbon
monoxide poisoning to occur.)
Places where the air outlet
faces animals or plants
(Bad effect may be caused.)
Places where chemicals are
handled (such as hospitals,
factories, laboratories, salons and
darkrooms)
(Chemicals evaporating into the air may damage
the unit, and damage to household items by water
leaking from the unit may occur.)
Places where oils or flammable gases are used
or where there may be a danger of them leaking
(Leaking fumes or gas may be drawn into the unit
and fire or smoke may occur.)
Do not wash the unit directly with water.
(Current leakages may cause electric shocks to
occur.)
Do not sit or climb on the unit.
(You may fall over, and injury may occur.)
Do not place liquid containers on top of the unit.
(Water may spill into the unit and fire or electric
shocks may occur.)
This unit is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experiences and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the unit by a person responsible for the safely.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the unit.
Do not cover the air inlet or air outlets with
cloths, blankets or similar articles.
(Air circulation will decrease and overheating or
fire may occur.)
The following people should not use the
unit by themselves.
Infants, young children or the elderly who are
unable to adjust the humidity by themselves
(They may be exposed to air from the unit for
long periods, or the room temperature may rise
while the unit is operating and health problems
or dehydration may occur.)
Do not use for humidity control in special
applications such as storing valuable
paintings or important documents.
(Deterioration of the articles being stored may
occur.)
Do not drink the water collected in the tank
or use it to give to pets or to water plants.
(Drinking or using this water may cause illness or
have other adverse effects.)
Do not move the unit any way other than sideways.
(The casters may drag and damage the
floor, carpet or mats.)
→ Lift up the unit if moving it on surfaces
which may easily become damaged or
over carpet with a long pile.
Do not hold the unit by the louvers when lifting it.
(The unit may fall down and injury may occur.)
Before moving the unit, turn off the power
and empty the water from the tank.
(Fire, electric shocks or damage to household
items from water leakage may occur.)
When disconnecting the power plug, hold
the plug, not the cord.
(A fire or electric shock may be caused due to wire
breakage or short circuit.)
