9Measure the secondary coil resistance.

9Is the ignition coil OK?

9Check the main switch for continuity.

9Check the engine stop switch for continuity.

9. Pickup coil resistance
9Disconnect the pickup coil coupler from the
wire harness.
9Connect the pocket tester (Ω x 100) to the
pickup coil terminal as shown.

Negative tester probe → white 2 2
NO
Replace the ignition
coil.
NO
Replace the main
switch.
NO
Replace the right
handlebar switch.

9Is the pickup coil OK?
YES

10. Wiring
9Check the entire ignition system's wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM".
9Is the ignition system's wiring properly con-
nected and without defects?
YES
Replace the CDI
unit.
