3. Installing the Machine Attach the auxiliary feed bins. Auxiliary Feed Bin Insert the top end of the auxiliary feed bin into the pillar on the main body. 5. Names and Functions on the Control Panel Name Function • When more than two sheets of paper are fed continuously at one time (continuous Feed Bin feed), or when more than two sheets of paper are fed together (multiple feed), the lamp Error (lamps 1 to 8) of the bin where the problem has occurred will light up.
6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini 6-1. Precautions when Stacking the Papers. ■ Separate sheets of paper before stacking in the feed bin. • If sheets paper are not well separated, it may cause misfeeding or double feeding. • Make folded or curled paper smooth before use.
6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini 6-2. Stacking the Paper ■Direction at stacking the paper Depending on the paper size, the stacking direction varies as follows. When using paper between B5 and A3 • Stack the paper lengthways as shown in the figure.
6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini 6-3. Procedures Insert the power cord into the outlet. Turn the power switch on. • Press the switch in the direction of “I” to turn the power on. • Press the switch in the direction of “O” to turn the power off.

Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini Select “ON” or “OFF” with the downstream processing switch key. • Select “ON” when using a downstream processing device. • Select “OFF” when the downstream processing device is not used. This switch operation cannot be performed when the downstream processing device is not connected.

6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini Determine the paper receiver stopper position. Scale • When using B5, A4, B4 or A3 paper etc., adjust the paper size displayed on the paper receiving stopper to that displayed on the window of the paper receiving plate.

6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini 2 Take out a sheet of paper on the feed bin and feed it out along the straight stacking guide up to the paper receiver tray. Jogger (left) 3 Set the jogger (left) to a position with a space of about 5mm from the paper.

6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini • When a feed error occurs, correct it. Refer to “On this Occasion” on page 27. • After it is corrected, press the clear key to return the counter display to “0” and press the preset key again.
6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini 6-4. Preset Key The preset key detects which bin contains paper and which does not, and at the same time records the paper size and reference data for multiple feed detection. After this detection, it feeds paper only from the bins containing paper.

6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini When troubles like mis-feeding, and paper jam occur, check the cause. After checking press the clear key to return the counter display to “0”. Continue to press the clear key until “0” is displayed, the preset key lamp is lit again.

6. Using the DC-6 mini, DC-8 mini ■Turning Off the Multiple Feed Detection Function When the multiple feed detection function is not required, it can be turned off as follows. While pressing the clear key on the control panel, turn ON the power switch.

7. On this Occasion 7-1. When the Feed Bin Error Lamp Blinks Cause • This lamp flashes on and off when the paper on the feed bin runs out or when misfeed occurs. Counter measures • Remove sheets of paper discharged to the paper receiver tray because they are not sufficient in volume to make a single collated set.

7. On this Occasion Remove the jammed paper manually when the jammed paper is not completely discharged as shown in the figure.
8. Trouble shooting 8-1. The Machine Does not Work When the Start Key is Pressed ➡ Set the feed lever to up. 1 Is the feed lever down ? Can operate the machine. ➡ Close the conveyance cover. 2 Is the conveyance cover left open ? Can operate the machine.
9. Cleaning The Machine and Replacing the Consumables ■Cleaning the Machine The feed ring and paper separator which function as a paper feeder become smudged with ink and paper shreds as you use the machine. Clean the machine as the smudges may cause feeding problems.

9. Cleaning The Machine and Replacing the Consumables When attaching the paper feed shaft, Feed Shaft hold the shaft. When attaching the paper feed shaft, Feed Ring do not hold the paper feed ring. ■Replacing the consumables When the feed ring or the paper separator is worn out, please do not hesitate to request replacing the components at the nearest dealer.
