2.2 Kuhnke FIO (Fast Input Output) Kuhnke FIO is a system of I/O modules for connecting the process signals to an EtherCAT network. Kuhnke FIO consists of the Ventura FIO bus coupler and a range of Ventura FIO I/O modules.
Ventura FIO modules are controlled via a broad process image. For Kuhnke FIO modules with controllers such as the analog modules are offered both to the Ventura FIO modules compatible versions with process image control, as well as variants with object control CoE (CAN over EtherCAT).
This section describes the general characteristics of Kuhnke FIO modules which are important for the installation, wiring and troubleshooting. You can find an overview of the system properties of Kuhnke FIO in section 7.1.1 on page 153. The specific characteristics of the individual modules will be presented in chapter 4.
