    BEFORE YOU BEGIN Important Information ● Severe dehydration and excessive water loss may cause readings which are lower than actual values. If you believe your pet is suffering from severe dehydration, consult the veterinarian professional immediately. ● If your pet's blood glucose results are lower or higher than usual, and they do not have any symptoms of illness, first repeat the test.

    Test results might be wrong if the contact bar is not fully inserted into the test slot. NOTE: The GlucoRx Vet TD-4268 monitor should only be used with GlucoRx Vet Test Strips. Using other test strips with this meter can produce inaccurate results.

    SETTING THE METER Before using this meter for the first time or if you change the meter battery, you should check and update these settings. Entering the Setting Mode (a) Start with the meter off (no test strip inserted). Press S. 1.

    How to Code Your Meter Your GlucoRx Vet TD-4268 meter is supplied with two code strips. There is one for cats, and one for dogs. Please check your GlucoRx Vet TD-4268 meter with the correspond- ing code strip for your pet to ensure proper performance.

    Failure to do so will get inaccurate results. If the LCD displayed code is not the same as the code on your test strip vial, and the code number cannot be updated, please contact GlucoRx Customer care on 01483 755133 assistance.
  • Page 15: Control Solution Testing

    Test strips (e), control solutions (f), lancing device (g) sterile lancets (h) should be included in the kit (please check the contents of your product box). They can be obtained separately from GlucoRx Customer care. Please ensure you have all items needed for a blood glucose test beforehand.
  • Page 16 WARNING: When doing the control solution test, you have to mark it so that the test result will NOT mix with the blood glucose TEST RESULTS stored in the memory. Failure to do so will mix up the blood glucose test results with the control solution test results in memory.

    TESTING WITH BLOOD SAMPLE WARNING: To reduce the chance of infection: • Never share a lancet or the lancing device. • Always use a new, sterile lancet. Lancets are for single use only. • Avoid getting hand lotion, oils, dirt, or debris in or on the lancets and the lancing device.

    NOTE: • Choose a different spot each time you test. Repeated punctures at the same spot may cause soreness and calluses. • It is recommended that you discard the first drop of blood as it might contain tissue fluid, which may affect the test result.     METER MEMORY The meter stores the 1000 most recent blood glucose test results along with respective dates and times in its memory. To enter the meter memory, start with the meter switched off. Reviewing Test Results 1. Press and release M. “ ” will appear on the display. Press M again, and the first reading you see is the last blood glucose result along with date, time and the measuring mode.

    DOWNLOADING RESULTS ONTO A COMPUTER Data Transmission Via Cable You can use the meter with a RS232 interface cable and the GlucoRx Healthcare Software System to view test results on your personal computer. To learn more about the GlucoRx Healthcare Software System or to obtain a RS232 interface cable separately, please contact GlucoRx Customer care on 01483 755133 for assistance.

    MAINTENANCE Battery Your meter comes with two 1.5V AAA size alkaline batteries. Low Battery Signal The meter will display one of the messages below to alert you when the meter power is getting low. 1.     Caring for Your Meter Cleaning ● To clean the meter exterior, wipe it with a cloth moistened with tap water or a mild cleaning agent, then dry the device with a soft dry cloth. Do NOT rinse with water. ● Do NOT use organic solvents to clean the meter. Meter Storage ● Storage conditions: -20°C to 60°C (-4°F to 140°F), below 95% relative humidity.

    ● Write the opening date on the vial label when you first opened it. Discard remaining test strips after 6 months. ● Do not use test strips beyond the expiry date. This may cause inaccurate results. ● Do not bend, cut, or alter a test strip in any way. ● Keep the strip vial away from children since the cap and the test strip may be a choking hazard. If swallowed, promptly see a doctor for help. For further information, please refer to the test strip package insert. Caring for Your Carry Case 1. Remove protective film attached to the sticky sheet before using for first time.

    NOTE: Never use any object to wipe off the sticky sheet. 5. After drying completely, the sticky sheet can be restored. Place it back in the carry case for use.
