  • Page 3 Harmony Link Harmony Link Product Summary The Logitech Harmony Link uses Smart State Technology™ to enable owners to use their Apple phones or tablet and Android phone to control their entertainment system. Users can connect multiple mobile devices to communicate with the Harmony Link. The Harmony Link uses wireless (WiFi) networks, by sending infrared (IR) signals to their entertainment devices to perform commands like powering on or off, setting inputs, and changing volume.

    Measurements The Harmony Link is a small device. It measures, 124 mm x 102.5 mm x 26.6 mm, or approximately 4.9" x 4" x 1". As a point of reference, a U.S. one dollar bill is 152.4 mm or 6" in length, making it longer than the Harmony Link.

    Logitech Harmony Link Application About In order to control their entertainment devices with a mobile device, users need the Harmony Link, their compatible Apple or Android mobile device, and the Harmony Link application to send the commands. The official name for the application connecting mobile devices to the Harmony Link is Logitech Harmony Link application.

    Set Up Complete the following steps to set up the Harmony Link. 1. Plug the Harmony Link in to a power supply using the supplied AC adaptor, and connect it to the computer using the supplied USB cable. 2. Open a browser on the computer and navigate to MyHarmony.com. Follow the online instructions for setting up the Harmony Link.

    Indirect Line of Sight If the Harmony Link is positioned so that it does not have a direct line of sight to the entertainment devices, the signal may be able to reach them by bouncing off of walls, floors, and ceilings. However, if the ceilings are high, or the back wall of the room is too far away, it may need to be positioned closer to the entertainment devices.

    If all of the devices are going to be kept out of sight—in a closed cabinet, for example—an IR mini-blaster needs to be used to extend the IR signal from the Harmony Link to the entertainment devices. Connecting to the Harmony Link Application – Mobile Phones Once users have positioned their Harmony Link and downloaded the Harmony Link application, they need to connect the Harmony Link to the application.

    3. The MyHarmony.com login screen appears. Enter the password to the MyHarmony.com account. Syncing with the Harmony Link Application The first time users connects to the Harmony Link, the Harmony Link application automatically syncs with their MyHarmony.com account settings. If changes are made to these settings, users must manually sync their application to the Harmony Link.

    Connecting to the Harmony Link Application – Tablets The steps for connecting an iPad to the Harmony Link are the same as connecting a mobile phone, up to the first sync. After the first sync, the tablet application prompts the user to select their country and service provider and enter their ZIP or postal code.
  • Page 12 Activities Activities added to the MyHarmony.com account can be launched from the mobile device using the Harmony Link application.     Harmony Link Activity Control Activities can be controlled in command or gesture mode. Command Mode Command mode appears just like the buttons users may see on the remote. Depending on the activity, different buttons may appear. Command mode appears in two different views.
  • Page 14 Harmony Link Devices Up to eight devices can be added to the Harmony Link to be controlled by users’ mobile devices. Similar to Harmony remotes, the Harmony Link application allows access to individual device control. Users can tap the device and control it with commands such as powering on and off.

    All favorite channels will be lost if the application is uninstalled from the mobile device. • Users with a mobile device connected to the Harmony Link can set up their favorite channels. Adding Favorite Channels To add a favorite channel complete the following steps: 1.
  • Page 16 Harmony Link 5. Select an icon for the channel. 6. The application returns to the previous page displaying the new image icon. Tap the Add button. The favorite channel appears on the One Touch screen. The new favorite channel and the necessary devices can now be launched with one touch.
  • Page 17 Harmony Link Deleting Favorite Channels Favorite channels can easily be deleted from the application. To delete favorite channels, complete the following steps: 1. From the One Touch screen, tap the Edit button. 2. A red X icon appears in the upper-right corner of all of the favorite channel icons. To delete a favorite channel, tap the corresponding X and the favorite channel is permanently removed.
  • Page 18 Harmony Link Using the Harmony Link Application – Tablets Users can install the Harmony Link application on their Apple or Android mobile phones, or an Apple iPad. The application for the tablet varies slightly from the mobile phone application. The tablet application is TV content-driven and has a different user interface.
  • Page 19 Harmony Link HD Button The HD button acts as a filter. When in the ON position, the application will only display and search for content available in high definition (HD). When it is in the OFF position, the application will display and search for all relevant content.
  • Page 20 Harmony Link The All TV Picker filters content by favorites, shows, sports, movies, news, and children's. To view the categories, the user can slide the bar to the left and right. To view the content within a category, the user simply taps the desired category.

    Harmony Link When the power button is tapped, a menu displays. If the user has not launched any activities and taps the power button, a menu will appear displaying a list of activities or the option to access a menu to power off individual devices.

The words Currently Started will display in the Activities menu under the activity the user has executed. Activity Control When an activity is launched, it can be controlled using three control panels located on the right side of the application.
  • Page 23 Harmony Link The user can view all of the control panels at the same time or in increments. Command Search In the third panel, the user can search for a command. For example, entering the search word Power will display all the devices in the account and all of the commands for that device containing the word "power".
