Tighten the propellers as per the lock direction (see above). 4.4 Propeller Guards You can protect your Q-1 Drone’s propellers from being damaged during flights by installing the propeller guards. To install a propeller guard remove the two M3x8 screws at the end of each motor, then place the propeller guard in position and attach using the M3x12 screws provided. Tighten the screws as required. Please keep the M3x8 screws in a safe place and replace when not using the propeller guards. PLEASE NOTE: the propellers are designed for automatic turning; therefore do not tighten excessively during installation.

6.2 Starting/stopping the motor 2. A fter the Q-1 Drone lands, toggle the throttle joystick to the lowest position and hold for 3 seconds to stop the motor. Make sure that the S1-S4 switches are in the positions shown below. Toggle the left and right joysticks as shown below to start the motor. This is known as Combination Joysticks Command (CJC). This reduces the chances of the Q-1 Drone switch flight mode. When the signal is restored, the controller will regain control and you getting lost or crashing in case the controller signal is lost. can continue to use the controller to operate the Q-1 Drone. *The home point is the Q-1 Drone’s position where the Q-1 Drone successfully scanned and 6.6 Battery level alarm function connected to the satellite. To ensure that the Q-1 Drone successfully flies back to the home When the Q-1 Drone battery charge is low you must land it as soon as possible or else it may point if it enters failsafe mode please only take-off after the Q-1 Drone’s GPS has successfully lose power completely and crash. The Q-1 Drone has a two level battery alarm function. connected to the satellite. Level 1 is a low power alarm and level 2 is a severe low power alarm. 8. Advanced troubleshooting and calibration When follow me mode is activated, the Q-1 Drone will take the shortest route to fly 10m 8.1 Remote control vertically and 15m horizontally away from the target. The remote control may need calibrating if you cannot start the motor using the CJC. Follow me mode will not work unless the tracker is turned on and paired to the drone. Only use the follow me mode in an open space where there are no obstacles the Q-1 Drone may fly in to while following the subject. While in follow me mode, the Q-1 Drone will follow the target left, right, forwards and backwards. The Q-1 Drone will hover on the spot when the target is not moving. If the tracker moves up or down vertically, the Q-1 Drone will also move up and down to match the tracker. Only use the follow me mode in an open space where there are no obstacles the Q-1 Drone may fly in to while following the subject. 1. Put switch two (S2) in the down position and then turn on the remote control. 2. The middle LED should be flashing quickly 3. S pin both joysticks 5-10 times in a full circle, touching all 4 corners. Spin the left joystick anti-clockwise and the right joystick clockwise as shown. 4. The LED will stop flashing 5. Put switch two (S2) back in the up position and the right LED on the remote will light up 6. After 3 seconds, the middle LED will light up to indicate remote calibration is complete 7. Turn the remote and Q-1 Drone off and back on again. 8.2 Accelerometer You may need to calibrate the accelerometer if: • The front and rear indicators are blinking quickly under the Q-1 Drone • The Q-1 Drone is drifting in flight in a certain direction Always remove the propellers before calibrating.
8.3 To calibrate the accelerometer Put switch 4 to the “NRM” position Turn on the Remote control, then the turn on Q-1 Drone. Push the joysticks inwards and down as shown until the 4 LEDs under the drone turn off, then return the joysticks to their centre positions Put Switch 2 in the “Null” position When the four arm lights on the Q-1 Drone turn on again, place After the Q-1 Drone has turned on normally, toggle Switch the Q-1 Drone on the ground 4 between the down and up positions quickly until the tail upside down. To avoid scratching the Q-1 Drone we recommend light flashes quickly that place it on a cloth or similar item. Toggle both joysticks on the remote together, moving them down and inwards as before until the lights go out on the Q-1 Drone and then return the joysticks to the middle position.

8.4 Gyroscope Put switch 4 to the “NRM” position You may need to calibrate the accelerometer if: • The rear indicators are blinking quickly under the Q-1 Drone • The Q-1 Drone is drifting in flight in a certain direction Turn on the Remote control, then the turn on Q-1 Drone. Toggle both joysticks together, moving them up and outwards as show until the rear lights the Q-1 Drone start flashing slowly and then return the joysticks to the middle position. This means that the Q-1 Drone has entered gyroscope calibration successfully. Place the Q-1 Drone on a level and still surface, if the surface is uneven or moving it will affect the gyroscope calibration The rear LEDs will flash red for around 15 seconds. If calibrated successfully, they will turn to a solid red. If the calibration fails, they will flash red quickly. After the Q-1 Drone has turned on normally, toggle Switch 4 between the down and up positions quickly until the tail light flashes quickly If calibrated successfully, move switch 4 for the “GPS” position. If the calibration fails, move the drone to a different surface away from vibrations and stand a few feet away from the drone, then re-start the calibration process.
