Troubleshooting Guide Maintaining Flow The number one reason that the portable tankless water heater does not ignite is that there is not enough water pressure. You need a minimum of 20 PSI. which the pump will provide with a charged battery. If heater shuts down it is most likely that the system has lost sufficient water pressure which will shut down the heater.
