1.0 PRO-1001 Installation 1.1 Installation and ventilation The PRO-1001 series maybe installed with or without rack mounting ears supplied. It is recommended that the chassis has at least 1RU space above and below for ventilation purposes. As this is not always possible it is recommended that a CAT5 patch panel, cable management panel or blank panel is used to create the airflow.
1.4 Connecting infra-red emitters Infra-Red emitters can be connected using the sixteen 3.5mm jack sockets located on the front panel. Only emitters supply by Scion should be used (PRO-0209). Each jack socket is numbered 1 to 16 from left to right and corresponds to the signal inputs on the rear of the unit.
1.6 Connecting RS232 Cables RS232 ports are provided for system configuration and control of the PRO-1001. The server software has functions for changing (OSD) lettering, baring and forcing inputs to outputs. RS232 IN RS232 OUT The RS232 cable between the PC and PRO-1000 is supplied. Ensure the cable is connected to the RS232 IN socket and COM1 of your computer.
T568B. This will ensure there are no crossed pairs or open circuits, as this may damage the PRO-1001 system. It is also important to ensure there are no third party products connected to the other end, as this can also damage the system.
Ensure that both ends of the cable are fully inserted and that it is free from any sharp objects. Connect the CAT5 patch cable and ensure that both LED's are illuminated and NOT flashing. Should the LED's begin to flash, remove the CAT5 cable to prevent damage to the receiver and PRO-1001 unit. See section 1.6 for more details.

LCD screens, energy saving bulbs and direct sunlight will effect the operation of the infra-red signal. When the PRO-6003 is receiving this type of hostile light, the PRO-1001 is likely to become confused. This causes the individual port to appear locked (no infra-red control). To remedy this problem, re-locate the PRO-6003 away from hostile light sources until operation resumes.
When the program starts, the software automatically detects which serial port the PRO-1001 is connected to. Ensure the PRO-1001 is connected and powered before running the application. If the PRO-1001 can not be detected, a dialogue box is displayed allowing you to continue or work of line.
The selection icons simulate the switch (crosspoints). The are 16 channel icons running to to bottom and 16 room icons from left to right. If your PRO-1001 is installed and connected to another Scion matrix, the software will automatically increase the room numbers to suit your installation. The icons are used to Force and Bar crosspoints.

3.9 Clearing forced channels 1. Click the “Force” icon. If the “Bar” icon was previously selected, the “Force” icon will change colour to orange. Click the “Force” icon again, the icon will now change to yellow. 2. Click the “Clear” icon under the room you wish to clear. The “Selection” icon will change to blue. 4.0 Changing channel names 1.
If no configuration file is currently open, the Save As dialogue box will be opened. Synchronizing the PRO-1001 <> Computer Changes made to the PRO-1001 whilst your computer is connected can be stored in the local processor in the PRO-1001. This is useful when the computer is not always connected and you wish to view the current settings in the PRO-1001.
Cut, Copy and Paste your configurations The Cut, Copy and Paste options from the edit menu may be used to modify the configuration. To copy a viewers settings to another viewer, click on either the bar button or force button to highlight it.
Make sure both ends of the CAT5 cable are connected and that is is wired to T568B. No signal coming from the PRO-6001/4 Confirm the signal input is present on input (1) of the Scion PRO-1001 unit. At the receiver select (press) number (1) on the scion remote.
