    2.1 Before You Begin A stable and clean working environment are essential. Dust and dirt can get into components and cause a malfunction. Use containers to keep small components separated. Adequate lighting and proper tools can prevent you from accidentally damaging the internal components.     2.3 Open Up Top Cover This is the first step of all to proceed with, if you are to install (or change) a processor (hard drive or memory module). Please remove the 4 screws as indicated in the places below, prior to any moving of the top cover. It is recommended to push the top cover backwards so as to detach the cover tongue out of the snatch-up at front side, before the lift-up or removal of the top cover.

    2.4 Removing Power Supply It is sometimes necessary to remove the power supply if you are to touch the part of processor, cooler, memory, or any particular part/cable underneath the power supply module. Removing power supply requires massive amount of complicated work to be carefully minded, including the disengagement of all power cables plugged on the motherboard and hard drives, suggesting the possibility to finish up the job in half an hour as total.

    2.6 Accessing Expansion Card MEB-7400D supports the following expansion slots. Please make sure the card to be added is compatible with the slots introduced above. (1) One AGP: Compatible with AGP Card. (2) Two PCI: Compatible with 5V or Universal Type PCI card.

    2.7 Adding 3.5” SATA Hard Drive Procedures to add one 3.5” SATA Hard Drive: (1) Turn off the system and open up the top cover. (2) Find the four screws fastened on the Hard Drive bracket (red circles as below). Remove these screws to acquire the Hard Drive bracket.

    2.8 Changing System Fan and Filter Please find a key in the accessory bag. Use this key to unlock the front door (right on the key-lock with red circle). This door can be detached, and restored back to position later on. After the door is detached, the operation panel, system fan, and the filter can be accessed.

    3.1 Turning On The System Detach the front door as described in the previous section, just to see the dual USB ports, reset switch (push button), power switch (rock switch), and two LEDs. Add your cables, such as USB keyboard and USB mouse on the USB ports, either at front side or rear side. Mind to add DB15 VGA connector from your monitor at VGA port (rear side).

    About the BIOS The BIOS (Basic Input and Output System) Setup program is a menu driven utility that enables you to make changes to the system configuration and tailor your system to suit your individual work needs. It is a ROM-based configuration utility that displays the system’s configuration status and provides you with a tool to set system parameters.

    4.5 Standard CMOS Features Please find the detected memory size at the bottom of this menu.     4.6 Advanced CMOS Features First (Second/Third) Boot Device This is to determine the first (second/third) boot device sequence. Options: Removable, Hard Disk, CDROM, LAN, and Disabled. Boot Other Device Enable this so, in case the first boot device is not available, the system will try to boot from the second device, or the third device, and so on.

Video BIOS Shadow This parameter, when enabled, turns on BIOS ROM shadowing for the block of memory normally used for standard VGA video ROM code, which is C0000 to C7FFF (32K); in short, it speeds up your system by copying the contents of your video BIOS code from the slow ROM in which it resides into faster RAM.

    4.7 Advanced Chipset Features DRAM Timing Selectable Select SPD for the system to automatically set the SDRAM timing by SPD (Serial Presence Detect). SPD is an EEPROM chip on the DIMM module that stores information about the memory chips it contains, including size, speed, voltage, row and column addresses, and manufacturer.
