    Battery charging WARNING Always use battery pack LBP-560-900 and charge only with LCJQ-560 charger. Keep charger and battery away from damp conditions and all liquids. Do not operate the charger on an easily combustible surface (e.g. paper, textiles) or in an environment with a high risk of fire.
  • Page 11 Fitting and removing the battery WARNING The ECHO rechargeable power tool will operate when the adapter is installed, the power indicator LED is lit. Make sure the ECHO rechargeable power tool is properly positioned to prevent loss of control and possible serious injury.

    Make sure that the power switch of the backpack battery and the main switch of the power tool are turned off. To remove battery, depress adapter latch, and slide adapter out of the ECHO rechargeable power tool. 1. Adapter 2. Adapter latch Put the removed adapter into the adapter holder on the waist belt.
  • Page 13 Before you start Put the battery cover, and fasten the hook and loop fasten- ers on the left and right sides in a reverse procedure. Fasten the belt on the front with the hook and loop fastener with the belt through the buckle in reference to the illustra- tion.

    Unshoulder the backpack battery. Turn off the power switch of the backpack battery. ∗ If the unit won’t stop even when the main switch of the Echo rechargeable power tool and the power switch of the backpack battery are turned off, unplug the adapter from the power tool 1.

    ∗ Check for any error before operating the power switch. If the power switch is operated, an error may not be indicated. If an error is not indicated, it means an error of the ECHO re- chargeable power tool or the charger. In that case, check them according to each operator’s manual.

    Operation Operation Operation Emergency release The backpack battery can be removed by disconnecting the buckle of the chest belt and the waist belt in case of emer- gency. When it is difficult to unshoulder the shoulder belt, lift up the buckle on the shoulder belt, and the shoulder belt will be loosened.

    Checking and maintenance requires specialist knowledge. If you are unable to check and maintain the product or deal with a fault yourself, consult your ECHO dealer. Do not attempt to dismantle the product. Consult your dealer in the event of a problem that is not covered in the table above, or other such concerns.
