Using on-screen keyboard
Windows 7 has an on-screen keyboard for text entry. To display it, do one of
the following:
• On desktop, tap the center of the left edge of the screen. The edge of a
keyboard icon appears. Drag the icon onto the desktop.
• When text entry is required, tap on the insertion point. A keyboard icon
appears next to the insertion point. Tap the icon to bring up the keyboard.
The on-screen keyboard of Windows 7 also features a writing pad that
supports direct handwriting on the screen. Handwriting by the user is
converted into typed text. For detailed instructions, tap Tools on the
