Rear Traffic Alert
When reversing out of a transverse parking space, the Rear Traffic Alert
(hereinafter referred to as system) warns of any vehicles approaching from
the side.
If the driver does not react to the warning, the system can trigger auto-
matic braking at a speed of up to 10 km/h.
Warning - vehicles with parking aid
You will hear a continuous tone and one of the following warning levels ap-
pears on the infotainment screen.
An oncoming vehicle is detected. Do not reverse any further, check

the area around the vehicle.
A vehicle is detected in the collision zone.
B
Warning - vehicles without parking aid
An acoustic signal is sounded and information asking the driver to observe
the traffic behind is shown in the instrument cluster.
Deactivating/activating system
In the instrument cluster display, in the Assist systems menu item.

Selection of driving mode
By selecting the driving mode, the driving behaviour can be adapted to the
desired mode of operation.
The following modes Eco, Comfort, Normal, Sport, Individual and Snow are
available.
The Comfort mode is only available on vehicles with adaptive chassis con-
trol (DCC).
Snow mode is only available for all-wheel drive vehicles.

Cancel the menu to select driving mode

Modes (the surface of the selected mode is highlighted in green)

Selection of driving mode
Press the  button.
In the infotainment screen, a driving mode menu appears.
To select a mode, tap the respective functional surface in the infotain-
ment screen or repeatedly press the button .
