USING
THE
CASSETTE RECORDER
Your
Computer
has a
type
of
amnesia
every time
you
turn
it
off.
When
you
turn
it
on
again,
it
remembers
only
its
Color
BASIC
language.
The
rest of
its
memory
is
gone.
This
lets
you reprogram
your
computer
for different
tasks.
It
is
infinitely
more
versatile
than
the
"computer"
in
a
digital
watch
or
a
microwave
oven,
which has a
permanent
memory
with
a
single
function
that
you can
never
alter.
When
you connect a
cassette recorder
to
the
Color
Computer
3,
you
dramatically increase
its
power and
versatility.
Because
thousands
of
cassette-based
programs
are
written
for
the
Color
Computer, you
can use
the cassette recorder
to
expand
your
library of
useful
programs.
You
can
also
use
the recorder
as
an
information
storage
bank
for
many
Program Paks
or
other cassette
programs. "Color
SCRIPSIT"
(26-3105),
for
example,
lets
you save
letters,
reports
even
the
Great
American
Novel
on
cassette tape.
Another
Program
Pak,
"Color
File"
(26-3103),
lets
you
store
and
manipulate addresses,
personal
records,
and
many
other
types
of useful
data.
All this,
and
much
more,
is
possible
even
if
you
know
absolutely nothing
about
computer programming.
