    LyncPad Connections (see page 8) The LyncPads are connected to the Lync using Cat5e cable (Cat5, or Cat6 will also work and can be used in place of Cat5e throughout this manual) with RJ-45 connections at both ends. Up to four LyncPads can be “daisy-chained” together with Cat5e cable within the same zone, with a maximum of 12 LyncPads for the entire system.

    Amplifier Connections (see pages 9-10) Both variable and fixed stereo line-level outputs are provided on the Lync controller for every zone. In most cases, you will use the variable outputs to connect the Lync controller to a multi-channel amplifier in order to control the volume level within a zone from the LyncPad.

    Made in T aiwan Use the Variable Line Outputs on the Lync to connect to the Line Inputs on the amplifiers for each zone. We include six 3’ shielded stereo patch cables with the Lync for this purpose. The diagram above shows the recom- mended connection to our DMA-1240 12-channel amplifier.

    Source: (two buttons) Use the top and bottom source buttons to scroll through the sources. The Source Name will be displayed on the LCD screen. HTD can provide free PC software to allow you to rename the Sources to be shown on the LCD screen.
  • Page 19 It is usually best to set the volume on these devices somewhere between half-way up and maximum when using them with the Lync system. However, in some cases you will need to reduce this output level in order to prevent distortion (especially if operating on battery power).

    NOTE: Balance, Treble, and Bass will only affect the variable output within its zone. Adjusting MP3 Mode: You have the ability to determine whether the Lync MP3 player will continously Zone loop once it has played all available MP3s or whether the player will stop. This fea- ture is located within the LyncPad Settings Menu.
  • Page 21 Intercom volume: The Lync system intercom feature has been designed such that the volume output is a fixed volume. Whether the LyncPad within a receiving zone is set to 1 or 60, the volume at which you receive a page is always the same. A fixed volume is used for intercom Calling: to ensure audible communications regardless of a LyncPad’s volume level.

Phone-to- Zone™ allows you to use your phone or smart device to "intercom" with any zone in your home! Calls are initiated from the phone and achieve two-way communication with any LyncPad.

    Ending a call with a zone- Press 99# If a LyncPad is installed in the zone, pressing either of the left or right Zone buttons will end the call. Similarly, the person who initiated the call can end the call with a particular zone by pressing 99#. At that point, the caller can connect with a different zone by pressing the code for that zone.
