TIP: Setting a class up in split mode allows the GEC5 system to accommodate 2 students per station, sharing a single
keyboard.
For the best results, you'll need keyboards that are programmed with Korg's GEC5 Split programs. These presets split
the audio from the keyboard down the middle so that only the student on the left will hear notes below Middle C, and the
student on the right will only hear the keys above Middle C; both halves of the keyboard are transposed so that they are
in the same middle octave, as well.
These Korg Split Programs, along with the Split Station capability of the GEC5 system, will allow the two students to
function completely independently, and the teacher will have all the same audio functionality as if the students were at
separate keyboards. Split Station mode is ideal for labs where space restrictions are a factor, as it essentially allows you
to have double the number of keyboard students as you have keyboards.
NOTE: You must load specialized Korg Split Sounds into your Korg keyboard to make use of the Split feature.

Room Layout: Click "Start Room Layout" (see Fig. 22). You can leave the stations as-is or drag them around the
screen to more accurately reflect the true layout of your lab. Click "Done" when you are satisfied with the layout and
then click "Done" again when the popup window comes up to confirm that your room setup is complete (see Fig. 23).
Note: This setup will be the new default setup for all classes created in your system.
TIP: When you are finished setting up the room, simply log out to create a Teacher Profile and and classes.
