Generally MULTISCAN plus reads DTC pulse signal from the

diagnostic adapter and shows the DTC number, title and details
automatically.

2. Serial Communication type

a. Most of the cars built in 1990's or later support serial communication with
a scanner, and the DTC is read by bi-directional communication.
b. MULTISCAN plus sends a command to the control module to reply with
the DTC numbers stored in memory, and the control module replies
thereupon.
