Heater 6350VS / 6355VS Heat is provided to the reader by fitting a heating element 6350VS/6355VS in the card reader. The heater is fed from its own transformer and has an effect of 5W.
  • Page 28: Assembly

SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Assembly It is of the utmost importance that doors, door bolts, locks, hinges, etc. are faultless. In other case you get a bad function. Doors will not unlock, doors hang on the lock bolt and so on. This gives an overall bad impression of the system.
  • Page 29: Card Reader

SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Card Reader Wall Assembly The card reader should be fitted at a height of 1250 mm above the floor, measured from the lower edge of the casing. It should be placed as close to the door handle as possible, not on the “hinge side”. In addition make sure that there is a free space of 20 cm both above and below the slit where the card is to be swiped.
  • Page 30: Doors

SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Doors In a standard system all existing doors will be used. Check that door opens and shuts smoothly and that it is equipped with a door shutter. If twin doors are used it is very important that the normally closed door is securely bolted with espagnolette or such like.

  • Page 32 SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Outside installation Pay regard to the mechanical protection. If there is risk of damages to the cable, by for example snow ploughs, the cable should be protected with sheet metal edges or valve. Inside installation Wiring should, as much as possible, be concealed.
  • Page 33 SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Heater If the card reader is to be equipped with a heater this should have a separate power supply. This can be made via the cable between the card reader and DAC-30, which then need one pair further, i.e. at least 3-pair.
  • Page 34: Master Reset And Addressing

SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Master reset and addressing A Master reset is made to reset 4000CE and DAC-30 so that all unwanted information is erased from the memory, after that the addressing is made. Addressing is made on every DAC-30 and card reader so they get an unique address.
  • Page 35 SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK The table shows how to set the DIP-switches, when addressing the DAC-30. Door/DIP Note! Address 0 is only to be used when a Master reset is made. DIP 6 ON = Balanced Input on SW, KP-2: 9&10 micro switch/door. For further information, refer to page 16.

SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Addressing of Card reader 6355MLB When connecting one (1) card reader to DAC-30 the address should be 0 (zero). When connecting both outer and inner card reader the outer should have address 0 (zero) and the inner card reader address 4 (four).
  • Page 37: Check-List At Start Up

SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK Check-list at start up • Check that all cable connections have been isolated and are tightened. • Connect both door monitor and blocking input to 0V if the not are used (DAC-30, KP02:9&10 and 15&16).
  • Page 38: At The Door

SOLICARD 4000 Installation guide UK At the door 1. Press the exit button. Press the exit button. If not, check the connections (make sure that KP02:15 in DAC-30 is connected to 0V). 2. Press the exit button and open the door within 3 seconds. The electric strike should lock when the door has been opened.
  • Page 39: Indications

LED unlit = Communication cables OK, but the control unit do not communicate, or all the doors might be uninstalled in the software. In the Solicard 4000 control unit there are two LED indications: LED 1 – (OK) – Flashes fast, approx. 15 Hz = The control unit works normally.
