You must read them carefully before installing or using the equipment. It is important that this document is retained with the equipment for future reference. Should the equipment be transferred to a new owner, always ensure that all relevant documents are supplied in order that the new owner can be acquainted with the functioning of the equipment and the relevant warnings.

    GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines REGULATIONS - GENERAL It is important that all relevant Regulations surrounding the installation of the Envireau Rain Water Recovery System are adhered to. For obvious reasons, we are unable to print all of the Regulations that could apply to your project therefore it is important that only Competent, Qualified Personnel with knowledge of the specific regulations are employed to install and commission the system.

    GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines SYSTEMS COVERED Your ENVIREAU system comprises of two separate consignments 1) The External Works (Ground-Works) Package – This consignment (perhaps delivered separately) contains the Rain Water Holding Tank and Rainwater Filter. The installation of these items is covered under separate installation instructions which are delivered with both the Tank and the Filter.

You should have consulted with ENVIREAU and be fully familiar with your own requirements, particularly regarding EXTRA items of equipment.

    GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS General and for all three types of installed system: 1. The Holding tank requires the installation of a duct, of minimum diameter 40mm to carry the pump cable and the Depth Sensor cable.

    GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines NO-MAINS SYSTEM INSTALLATION Please refer to the NO-MAINS SYSTEM Guide Sheet (at end of this section) throughout these instructions. Dispose of the instructions for other systems. As you are installing a NO-MAINS system it is assumed that you have no MAINS WATER SUPPLY available, or you do not wish to use MAINS water in this scheme.

Do not drill this hole at less than 300mm below ground level, to prevent freezing. In any event, the duct should be sealed into the tank using a quality waterproof sealant.
  • Page 10 GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines Although the system can run from a 13 Amp switched socket outlet, this is not advised. In all instances a separate RCD MUST be in circuit. The system draws approximately 4 amps at 240 volts AC. Whatever cable is run to the local switch arrangement, the maximum cable size to enter the CONTROL UNIT should be 1.5mm flexible TRS.

If you have extended the pump cables and have used oversized, armoured or solid conductors to achieve this you must convert to the previously specified cable size using a joint box before entering the control unit.

Before proceeding to the final stage, Set-up and Commissioning, you should check the following. a) Are all pipework joints secure? b) Have you taken precautions to quickly isolate the electrical supply to the system? c) Is the storage tank full (or at least half-full) of clean water, free from installation detritus? d) Are you aware of the location of all items of equipment, particularly the DISPLAY unit?

Check that this is the case by operating appliances. If any appliances are calling for water let them fill until demand ceases.

Use the lifting rope to lower and secure. 2) Make certain all joints are secure.

    GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines GRAVITY (HEADER TANK) SYSTEM INSTALLATION Please refer to the GRAVITY SYSTEM Guide Sheet (at the end of this section) throughout these instructions. Dispose of the instructions for other systems. As you are installing a GRAVITY system it is assumed that you have MAINS WATER SUPPLY available and you wish to use MAINS water in this scheme by the installation of a header tank.

The mains supply terminal block is marked L, N and E and is top left (facing) on the control unit Printed Circuit Board. Note. Although the system can run from a 13 Amp switched socket outlet, this is not advised. In all instances a separate RCD MUST be in circuit.

Do not lower the pump by the electrical cable or by the hose.
  • Page 19 GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines To install the sensor, uncoil the cable fully and straighten on the ground surface. You are NOT advised to cut the cable to length at this stage. It is important that this cable is not unduly stretched so lubricate if necessary.
  • Page 20 GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines f) Now remove the filter from the in-line filter carrier on the pump incoming pipe and VERY SLOWLY open the incoming stop-cock below the filter carrier. You will hear air rushing up the pipe from the pump. Be ready to turn off the stop-cock to avoid spillage from the filter carrier.

    GL0052-03 – Envireau Mono-Tech Rainwater – Installation & Operation Guidelines DIRECT (PRESSURISED) SYSTEM INSTALLATION Please refer to the DIRECT SYSTEM Guide Sheet (at end of this section) throughout these instructions. Dispose of the instructions for other systems. As you are installing a DIRECT system it is assumed that you have MAINS WATER SUPPLY available and you wish to top-up your storage tank with MAINS water during periods of low rainfall.

Lay in the MDPE pump outlet pipe according to your chosen route and ensure that bending radii are kept as large as possible to avoid kinking. Before terminating the pipe in the building, wash it through to void any grit or small stones.

Before proceeding to the final stage, Set-up and Commissioning, you should check the following. a) Are all pipework joints secure? b) Have you taken precautions to quickly isolate the electrical supply to the system? c) Is the storage tank full (or at least half-full) of clean water, free from installation detritus? d) Are you aware of the location of all items of equipment, particularly the DISPLAY unit?

Now that the system is commissioned you should check that the pump becomes DISABLED when the water level in the storage tank falls to a very low (EMPTY) level. To do this you should turn off the mains stop-cock and lift the sensor until it is approximately 7”...
