Secure Evidence Model ‐ SE‐M9‐GPS Operation Manual 1. Introduction Thank you for purchasing the SE M9 GPS body worn HD camera system. This manual includes detailed instructions on how to select and use the many features that are included with the M9. 2. Secure Evidence Model ‐ SE‐M9‐GPS 4. Recording and Playback Recording Audio Normal Audio Recording While the camera is switched on, press and release the Audio Button once. The camera will vibrate, display a flashing amber LED and display a microphone image with the current duration of the audio recording. To stop the recording, press the Audio Button once. One Key Audio Recording While the camera is switched off, press and hold the Audio Button until the unit vibrates and 'Audio Recording' is displayed on the LCD screen. A microphone image will be displayed with the current duration of the audio recording. To stop the recording, press the Audio Button. The camera will remain switched on after this process. Taking Photographs While the camera is switched on, press and release the Photograph Button. The image will be automatically saved to the camera. Recording Video Normal Video Recording While the camera is switched on, press and release the Video Button to start recording. When the recording starts, a red LED will begin to flash, the video camera icon will be displayed on the screen and the current video recording duration will be displayed. To end the video recording, press the Video Button once. One Key Video Recording While the camera is switched off, press and hold the Video Button until the unit vibrates and 'Video Recording' is displayed on the LCD screen. Secure Evidence Model ‐ SE‐M9‐GPS 5. Other Functions Digital Zoom To adjust the digital zoom, firstly ensure that the unit is switched on. To zoom in, press and hold the Play/Pause Button until the zoom feature is activated then release the button when the required limit is reached. To zoom out, press and hold the Menu Button until the zoon feature is activated then release the button when the required limit is reached. Infrared LED The infrared LED can be used in low light conditions where the camera will not normally receive an image. While the camera is recording video, press the Light Button once to turn the infrared LEDs on. The recorded video and the image on the LCD screen will be displayed in black and white. To turn the Infrared LEDs off, press the Light Button. White LED (Flashlight & Strobe) The white LED may be used in low light conditions at close proximity to illuminate an area. To activate the White LED light, press and hold the light button until the white LED is turned on. To turn the white LED off, press and hold the Light Button until the white LED is switched off. By pressing and holding the Photograph Button, the front white LED will flash / strobe and may be used for location at night. Auxiliary Location Light (Red Laser) The Auxiliary Location Light can be used to direct attention to a specific location. The laser may not be visible on recordings if the ambient light is too high. To activate the red laser, ensure the unit is switched on, then press and hold the OK Button until the Laser is on. To de‐activate the laser, press and hold the OK Button until the laser turns off. WARNING – Do not shine any laser into the eyes as it may cause injury. Resetting the Camera In the unlikely event where the camera 'hangs' (cameras display is unresponsive to any input), press the reset button using an open paperclip or a similar item to reboot the camera. Secure Evidence Model ‐ SE‐M9‐GPS 4/29 ‐ PHOTO DELAY TIMER This setting enables or disables the Photo Delay Timer Feature. The Photo Delay Timer can be disabled by selecting 'OFF'. When a Photo Delay Timer time period is selected, a delay will occur between when the photo button is pressed and when the photo is taken. The delay will be the time period which is selected. Self timer: Off Self timer: 5 sec Self timer: 10 sec 5/29 ‐ CONTINUOUS PHOTO SHOOTING This setting enables or disables Continuous Photo Shooting. Continuous Photo Shooting can be disabled by selecting 'OFF'. When a Continuous Photo Shooting time period is selected, pressing the photo button will take the first photo, a delay will occur then another photo will be taken. Another delay will occur then another photo will be taken automatically. The delay will be the time period which is selected. This process will continue until the photo button is pressed a second time. Secure Evidence Model ‐ SE‐M9‐GPS 9/29 CAR MODE Car mode enables the camera to auto start recording when power is received through the docking station – ideal when the camera is mounted as an in vehicle recorder. This feature can be turned off during normal use. CarDV Mode: Off CarDV Mode: On 10/29 LOOP RECORD Loop recording is only available in CarDV mode and it works on a first on first off basis. If enabled and once the camera’s memory is full, the camera will write over the oldest files first in an endless loop. When disabled and the camera memory is full the camera with turn off, saving all data. This data can be used in supplied software to show both the video image and camera location/track on a map, within a split screen viewing screen. Speed and direction are also recorded if moving.
