TR-MB8 User’s Guide Before Use Information on the Watch's Mechanics Adjusting the time by receiving signals from GPS satellites GPS satellites are equipped with high-precision atomic clocks with a margin of error of one second every 100,000 years. Signals sent from the GPS satellite to earth contain "time information" based on the atomic clock.
  • Page 25 TR-MB8 User’s Guide Before Use Note: About GPS satellites The satellites are controlled by the United States Department of Defense and orbit at an altitude of 20,000 km. Originally, these satellites were designed for military purposes, but now some of the information they send is for consumer use and is used in a variety of devices such as car navigation systems and smart phones.
