Depending on the equipment fitted in your vehicle, you may require an additional original Toyota cover. These are available online or from your Toyota dealer. The following section shows how to tell the difference on the basis of a Toyota Avensis 3G (Type T27). 1. I f your vehicle has a basic factory-fitted radio (similar to the one pictured here), you need to acquire a suitable Toyota cover for your vehicle before you can install your Z-E6150. 2. I f your vehicle has a high-quality factory-fitted radio (as shown here H = 100 mm, B = 200 mm), you can easily swap to a Z-E6150.

    ATTENTION ● T he ZENEC system should be installed by an authorised retailer. Specific knowledge and tools are required for installation. Incorrect installation can damage the vehicle and the ZENEC system. ● F ault-free operation can only be guaranteed if you use the equipment supplied, or the optional ZENEC original accessories. The ZENEC system and original accessories must never be modified or altered in any way. Incorrect handling can damage the vehicle and the ZENEC system. NOTE ● T he ZENEC Z-E6150 is equipped with an integrated DAB+ receiver. To use it, you need a suitable DAB antenna (not supplied), which must be connected to the ZENEC system. ● I f the target vehicle is fitted with an original DAB antenna, it can still be used in conjunction with the ZENEC system. ● Z ENEC system software updates are installed using a USB data stick. You must therefore ensure that the USB connection on the ZENEC system remains accessible during installation (installation of USB extension). ● I f you have any queries or problems with the ZENEC system, please contact the retailer where you purchased it.   • Page 4 Example of installation: Toyota Avensis 3G (Type T27) Disassembly and preparation: NOTE 1. R emove the ignition key and leave it outside the vehicle for the duration of installation. 2. Start with the uninstallation of the original unit. 3. D o not switch the ignition back on until all the points in the assembly manual have been completed and the ZENEC system has been fully installed. 1. L ever the plastic cover on the right of the cen- tre console out of its fixture, as shown in the diagram. You require a plastic lever tool for this step. 2.     5. U nscrew and remove the four Phillips (PH2) or hex (10mm) screws from the original unit. 6. C arefully pull the original unit out of the radio bay. Then unplug all cables on the rear of the unit. Installation: 7. T ransfer the original radio brackets (left and right) to your ZENEC system. 8. ( No picture) I nstall the GPS antenna (No. 9) in a suitable position, making sure that the GPS reception is not adversely affected by unwanted shielding of metallic vehicle parts (thermal insulation glazing, etc.). Then route the connection cable into the radio bay. 9. ( No picture) I f you have purchased the optional external Blue- tooth microphone (N-ZENC-MIC), install it now and then insert the connection cable into the radio bay. Depending on your preference, and whether you select an internal or external microphone, the microphone source for Bluetooth mode must be set accordingly in the unit menu. 10.   • Page 6 11. C onnect the main connection cable (No. 2) of the ZENEC system (No. 1) to the two radio plugs on the vehicle. D epending on your vehicle, you must use either the 20-pin (No. 3) or the 28-pin connector (No. 4) to operate the AUX connector and the steering wheel remote control. You must connect these to the main connection cable. T he reverse gear signal is supported only by the 28-pin connector (No. 4). If your vehicle is fitted with a 20-pin connector (No. 3), you need to use a gauge to search for the reverse gear signal and connect it directly to the main connection cable (No. 2). I f you cannot find an ISO antenna plug in your vehicle, it is most likely that your vehicle is using a special Toyota antenna plug. If this is the case, the set includes a FM ISO antenna interface (No. 6) which you can simply connect to the original unit. If the antenna is active, you must also con- nect the blue phantom power cable to the main connection cable (No. 2). 12. R emove both screws from the transport lock prior to installing the ZENEC system (No. 1). 13. ( No picture) Connect all cables previously installed in the radio bay to the ZENEC system (No. 1).
  • Page 7 15. Y ou must reattach the radio cover once you have fixed the ZENEC system back into position. Remember to reconnect the plug for the hazard lights to the rear of the radio cover. To finish in- stallation, simply attach the plastic covers to the left and right of the centre console. NOTE ● E nsure that all the plugs on the rear of the unit have sufficient clearance and are not kinked. ● A ny plug-in connections which do not have a securing mechanism must also be secured with insulating tape. STARTUP Finally, carry out a general function test and perform the basic settings and vehicle-specific settings (steering wheel remote control, etc.). Also make sure that no error messages are displayed in the vehicle.
