• During setup, be calm and focused. Allow plenty of time before the concert to set up the MoyerCam. • While we believe the MoyerCam is safe if used as instructed, we rely on the user to actively look out for situations that could lead to problems.
If a pin is partially out, push it back in. (This might require a piano technician to avoid damaging the surface of the piano.) If it has slid out completely and is now missing, stop! Do not use the MoyerCam until the pin has been replaced.

MoyerCam User Manual - Page 15 The main consideration in your decision should be stability. Do not locate the bottom of the Extended Stick in any place where its position could suddenly shift. Note in the above photos that it is always butted up against a solid wall.

After placing the bottom end of the Extended Stick, you now need to guide the top end into the correct notch on the lid. First, if there is no notch, STOP! Do not use the MoyerCam without a notch. Some pianos have two...

Note: we suggest that you set the keystone to its minimum number (-40) to help offset the distortion caused by projecting onto a non-vertical surface, namely, the piano lid.

STEP 12: Tidying up Make the MoyerCam look a little tidier by straightening and hiding cords as much as possible. You can hide the cords that connect to the Projector by strapping them to the leg on the Projector Tripod with the velcro...
3). Don't forget to turn off the Camera! If you leave it on by mistake, it will continue to run on battery and eventually the battery will be depleted; the result: next time you use the MoyerCam, the camera might turn off in the middle of the concert even though it is plugged in. (Somehow the GoPro Camera relies on the internal battery to run properly, even if it is plugged in.)
OPTIONAL: Using MoyerCam with a normal screen There are occasions when you might want to project the MoyerCam's image onto a normal projector screen rather than the underside of the piano lid. This might be tempting especially in a concert hall with a built-in projection system.
Often this happens if a concert hall is lit with LED theatrical lights. Luckily, such lights are usually adjustable, and with some experimentation and the help of the concert venue's lighting manager, you should be able to make the MoyerCam's image acceptable. The Extended Stick is too long.
