    3.75 lb (1.7 Kg) Electrical Requirements The ML600 requires an external DC power source of -48/-60 VDC nominal (maximum range -40 VDC to -72 VDC), rated at 24 Watts maximum. For ordering AC supply, see “Appendix B, Parts List” in the ML600 User Manual.

    Installation Overview Installation Overview The flowchart in the following figure provides an overview of the tasks you need to perform when installing the ML600. For configuration without MetaASSIST View, remove the dipswitch cover and set the dipswitches. See Dipswitch Configuration (on page 5).

    DS#2 is used to apply HSL mode (-O -Office), different from factory (-R -Customer). DS#2 is in effect only when DS#1 is On. DS#2 must be set differently on 2 linked ML600 connected by copper pairs. ML600 installed on Central Office site should be set to -O (Office) DS#2 is On.

    Rack Mounting For 19”/23”/ETSI racks: For rack mount use the rack mount sleeve. See “Appendix B - Parts List” in the ML600 User Manual for list of parts. The following figure presents the installation of brackets for mount option. The mounting brackets for 19” and 23” racks can be positioned so that their flanges are flush with the front of the unit or offset by 5”...

    Horizontal Surface Mounting Place the ML600 on a table or other horizontal surface. The ML600 comes with rubber feet in the accessory kit that can be used to help keep the ML600 from sliding on the surface or scratching it.

    VDC RTN. Power Source The ML600 requires an external DC power source of -48/-60 VDC nominal (-40 VDC to -72 VDC), rated at 24 Watts maximum. For AC supply, an AC power adapter is available, see the ML600 User Manual.

    1. Remove 3/8" (10mm) of insulation from the end of the black and red 20-18 AWG wires. 2. Crimp the two Ring Terminals to the wires. 3. On the ML600 rear panel, remove the screws from the Barrier Terminal Block using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.

    Installing the System Cabling Information and Procedures Cabling information for the front and rear panel connectors of the ML600 is presented in the following figures and the following table. Note: All intrabuilding interfaces are to be used with shielded and grounded cables at both ends.

    When software loading/initialization is successfully completed, all system LEDs are green except for the Alarm LED which can be red for a ML600 that is with factory setup and not configured by dipswitches. Facility LEDs (ETH, HSL, MLP) depending on cable availability (plugged-in) and port configuration, can be turned On or Off.
