Suppose
you want
to access
a field in
two ways
—
in total
and
in
part.
Then you
can
assign
two
field
names
to the
same
area of
the
buffer.
For
example,
if
the
first
two
digits
of
a six-digit
stock-number
specify
a category,
you
might
use the following
field structure:
FIELD
1,6
AS STOCKS,
FIELD
1,2
ASCTGS,
Now
STOCKS
will reference the
entire
stock-number
field,
while
CTGS
will
reference only the
first
two
digits
of the number.
