A resistance value of up to 1 W measured between a suitable earthing contact and all
exposed conductive parts which might become charged with voltage in the event of an error
is allowable for permanently installed devices.

In the case of data processing systems or combinations of permanently installed individual
devices, the network should be decoupled and individual measurements should be per-
formed. If decoupling is not feasible, individual measurements at interconnected devices may
not demonstrate differences of greater than 0.2 W from device to device. If this differential
value is exceeded, separate, individual measurements are then required for each device
within the network.
