  • Page 9: Functional Description

    Functional Description The 9482DT transmitter accepts four composite video signals in NTSC or PAL format via four BNC video input ports. The baseband video signals are each sampled at a 15 Mhz rate by an A-to-D converter operating with nine bits of precision. The resulting digital signals are multiplexed and serialized along with the serial data from the two data ports and the high-speed port and converted to an optical signal for transmission over the fiber.

VIDEO INPUT CONNECTORS 1, 2, 3, AND 4 These BNC connectors are the inputs for the video signals and outputs of the “up-the-coax” PTZ data. DUPLEX HIGH-SPEED PORT CONNECTOR This RJ45 connector provides the connections for the high-speed port. Refer to the Set Up section of this manual for instructions on programming and connecting this port.

  • Page 21 ONNECTING THE PEED The duplex high-speed port on the 9482DT and 9482DR is a synchronous RS422 duplex port operating at 15 Mbps. It may be used as an RS422 port asynchronously at 1.5 mbps. Its primary purpose is to provide the I/O port for accessory modules that can add additional data, audio, contact closure, or Ethernet connections to the existing video and data channels already on the 9482D cards.
