    3Com LinkSwitch and multilevel VLAN tags, you can configure the switch to convert between the two formats. Finally, in a P220G switch network, you can use VLANs to limit spanning tree domains, so that the network converges more quickly during spanning tree reconfiguration.

The default case is that when output buffers fill up, frames destined for a particular buffer will be dropped after being switched by the crossbar. This should only occur in a case where the output port is very congested.
