    3. GETTING STARTED The camera’s top is marked by the Absolute Zero logos. The tripod mounts can be found on both top and bottom. The lenses are positioned (tilted) to optimize filming in the assumed position. That means the results will equally good, if you film with the camera upside-down. Make sure the camera is always protected against dust and rain.

    4. RECORDING VIDEO The camera works best while being stationary during recordings. This means, that it is a good idea to place it on a solid tripod. The best results are achieved with minimum distance of one meter to any moving objects. To avoid parallax errors, focus the individual lenses on to the most important objects you want to record.

    5. PICTURE MODE / TIME LAPSE To enter PICTURE MODE and take a picture, simply pres ‘pic’ or ‘p’. Repeat that, for every picture you need to take until you want to exit PICTURE MODE. That is done by pressing ‘stop’ or ‘s’.

    6. RECORDING SOUND If audio is needed, use the recording of cameras 0 and 1 to extract the sound. The microphones are positioned on the bottom as shown below. It is recommended to use an external microphone, when sound recording is required, as the internal microphones only provide mono feed with limited quality.

    7. COMMANDS IN DETAIL You may find all the commands listed on page 2. Here is a brief commentary explaining them. The user interface has several menus. When the camera is turned on, you are in CAPTURE MENU. From this menu you can capture video, pictures, transfer data and perform other most common actions.
  • Page 11 From CAPTURE MENU you can enter SETTINGS MENU, by pressing ‘adjust’ or ‘a’. The available commands are listed each time you enter the SETTINGS MENU.     8. DATA TRANSFER To start the data transfer, simply send ‘data’ or ‘d’. Note that the transfer will not begin, until the USB cable is detected. It is not recommended to unplug the USB cable, until the transfer is complete and the transmission is manually stopped by the sending the command ‘stop’ or ‘s’.

    When recording with C830, this process is done using third-party software. One particular software package that has given good results with C830 is AutoPano Video. This software can stitch most recordings automatically, using the “mixed-lenses” option.     10. BATTERY CHARGING To charge the on-board battery, one must simply plug the enclosed wall adapter into the socket shown in the pictures below. The battery is charging as long as the red LED is on. When charging is complete, the LED turns off or it blinks. A full charge takes about 8 hours.
