This board is not intended to be repaired on component level.
Circuit Diagrams and Printed Circuit Board drawings
are published for orientation only.
In case of defects please replace the entire board.
Boards can be ordered with codenumber "3139 118 57781".
DVD-Frontend – Service Hints
1. Functional description
The DVD-Frontend controls the DVD-drive of the 5DTC module. It holds an RF-preamplifier, the servo loops and motor drivers
for the drive as well as an advanced CD/DVD-ROM controller for digital servo- and signal-processing. The decoded CD/DVD
data packets are sent to the DVD-Backend via an ATAPI-interface.
The whole board is supplied by the StreamIOm module via the DVD-Backend.

Important note: When replacing the DVD-Backend the so-called "Version Matrix Code" must be programmed into the board
before returning the set to the customer!! The VMC depends on the stroke version of the set and holds information like the
DVD Region Code, the TV-System, the menu language, aso. For details see Firmware Upgrades (chapter 2-4) and Service
Test Program, table 3 (chapter 3-1).
