    Your new player Congratulations on becoming a new owner of this player. With your new player you can enjoy the following: � Digital Audio Player - supports MP3 and WMA format. � Voice Recorder - provides a synchronous voice recording function. Recorded �les will be stored in WAV format. � A-B Section Repeat - enables users to repeat a particular section during normal playback. � EQ effect - you are able to select one of the EQ modes to enhance your music listening experience. � USB Storage Device - allows users to store data in the player.     Getting Started Install The player package includes a CD. Insert the CD into your CD-ROM drive, and the instal- lation program will start automatically. Follow the on screen instructions to install the soft- ware. The CD contains the following: � The Philips Firmware Manager allows you to update or recover your player. � User Manual and Frequently Asked Questions � Adobe Acrobat Reader Adobe Acrobat Reader is a free software program that allows you to view and print Portable Document Format (PDF) �les. To read the players User Manual, you have to install Adobe Acrobat Reader. Connect Charging the Battery The player comes with a rechargeable battery. To charge the battery, follow the instructions below: On the top of the player you see a mini USB (B type, female) port.

    Battery Status Full Charge the battery when necessary. Refer to the �gure above to know the battery�s status. Transfer Your player appears as a USB mass storage in Windows Explorer. You can organize �les and transfer music to your player during USB connection. Click and highlight one or more of songs to transfer between your player and your computer. 2. Use drag and drop actions to complete your transfer. Disconnecting your player safely After managing �les using a PC, follow these steps to safely remove the player: . When a USB device is connected to a computer, an icon appears in the task bar. Double click the icon to display the Safely Remove Hardware dialog box.

    Enjoy Power On Before any operations can be performed, you have to �rst turn on the device. Follow the steps below to turn on the player. . Press once. ►‫׀׀‬ 2.     Music Mode Music Playback The player supports MP3 and WMA formats. Follow the steps below to play music. . In the Main Menu, press enter Music mode. 2.     Recordings Microphone Recording The player has a built-in Microphone, so you can make voice recordings. . In the Main Menu, press enter the recording mode. 2.     To upgrade your player, please follow instructions below: If you installed the �Philips Firmware Manager� from the CD-ROM before, then remove it from your computer by going to the Start menu, select the �Philips Firmware Manager� and select Uninstall. Download the new �Philips Firmware Manager� from the website.

    Once �Philips Firmware Manager� has detected your player, click �Start� to update your �rmware. 6. Disconnect the player safely from your computer. Recover Firmware If your player hangs or does not function anymore, �rst try to reset it by inserting a sharp object into the reset hole of the player untill it powers down. If this does not help, try to recover the player with the �Philips Firmware Manager�:...
