5-3 Reel Torque Adjustments
5-3-1 Reel Torque
1. The rotation of the capstan motor drives the
clutch assembly through the capstan motor
belt.
2. Brake and shift operations in FF/REW are
done by a slide lever.
3. Transmission of accurate driving force is done
by gears.

4. Note : If the unit is out-of-spec, re-check after

5-3-2 Location of Tension Pole and Back
Tension Adjustment
1. Remove the housing assembly and set the
deck to the Playback Mode.
2. Adjust the cam tension so that the location is
3 ± 0.5mm from the center of the supply
roller.
3. A back tension meter should be used when
adjusting the back tension.
Specification : 56 ± 5g.cm. If the back tension
is out of spec, adjust the cam tension.
4. Counterclockwise : Torque Down
Clockwise: Torque Up
