Carbon monoxide does not react in the same way, but it is toxic. Honda Motor Co., Ltd. utilizes lean injection settings as well as other systems, t o reduce carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons. CRANKCASE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM The engine is equipped with a closed crankcase system t o prevent discharging crankcase emissions into the atmosphere.
  • Page 38 GENERAL INFORMATION EXHAUST EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM (SECONDARY AIR SUPPLY SYSTEM) The exhaust emission control system is composed of a lean fuel injection setting, and no adjustments should be made except idle speed adjustment with the throttle stop screw. The exhaust emission control system is separate from the crankcase emis- sion control system.
  • Page 39 GENERAL INFORMATION EVAPORATIVE EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM (CALIFORNIA TYPE ONLY) This model complies with CARB evaporative emission requirements. Fuel vapor from the fuel tank is routed into the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister where it is absorbed and stored while the engine is stopped. When the engine is running and the evaporative emission (EVAP) purge control solenoid valve is open, fuel vapor in the EVAP canister is drawn into the engine through the throttle body.
