What to do BEFORE you use your phone Before you use your phone for the first time, please charge the battery for at least 5 hours.

Touch the Contacts icon. A Contacts window opens and displays three options: Create a new contact, Sign in to an acc- ount and Import contacts.
If you need to import contacts from an SD card, then select Import contacts and follow the rest of the prompts. Placing a call From the Home screen, touch the Phone icon. A window displays that shows your Favorites and the contacts you call often.

Changing screen lock op- tions If you’ d like to secure your phone by locking the screen, then follow the steps below. From the Home screen, touch the Applications screen key to access the Apps screen. Touch the Settings icon. There are four options to lock your screen: Slide, Pattern, PIN and Password.

3. Enter your password and touch Next. A Validating Server Settings window will display. If the server recognized your email and password then an Account Settings window will display next. Touch the Inbox checking frequency. Touch Next. A confirmation message will display that reads ‘Your account is set up and email is on its way.
