    Safety Warnings Installation precautions • This appliance is fitted with a 15 Amp plug and lead, therefore, no requirement to be hardwired. A 15 Amp powerpoint should be fitted to the wall or interior of the housing, by a qualified electrician only. The powerpoint should be located above the top of the appliance, once fitted, as not to be interfered with when the appliance is pushed into place.

    Safety Warnings Product use precautions • This appliance is recommended for domestic use only. Refer to the warranty card for use in any type of commercial environment as the warranty terms are reduced. • In hard water areas it is recommended to use only purified or bottled water. In these areas the water is subject to high concentrations of calcium and magnesium minerals and creates more than ordinary limescale deposit within the appliance and its components.

    Oven Illumination Oven lamp The oven is fitted with a lamp, located at the rear right hand side of the oven enabling the user to check the food without having to open the door. During use, the lamp stays illuminated for a period of 3 minutes. After 3 minutes the lamp will go out, saving energy.

    Oven Accessories Oven accessories supplied The steam oven is supplied with the following oven accessories, perforated steam tray, baking / drip tray and wire shelf.     Operating Instructions Getting started Setting the time of day When the steam oven is first connected the minutes time display will flash. This will only flash for 10 seconds and then return to a static ‘time of day’ display. If this happens, to set the clock hold the key for 2 to 3 seconds and the minute time display will start to flash.

These programmes have pre- settings for each of them although can be adjusted according the the users preference or as nominated in any recipe being followed.

    The SCG36 has the additional use of convection programme modes making it ideal to brown the foods that have been steamed as well as using it as a traditional oven for baking, grilling and roasting.

    Operating Instructions Steam cooking guidelines The guidelines in the table below relate to cooking with steam only and are just that, guidelines. There may be a bit of trial and error before mastering the art of steam cooking. We suggest reducing temperature and cooking times slightly when working with this oven until you get used to it and understanding what programmes give the best results.

    Care and Maintenance Removal of side racks NOTE: As part of the regular cleaning of the steam oven it may be necessary to remove the side racks for better access to the sides and rear of steam oven interior. This procedure is fairly simple as outlined below and care should be taken ensuring the side racks are cooled before removal to avoid scalds or burns.
