Electrical System

Make sure the batteries are secure. Check that battery connections are clean and tight. If not used frequently,
trickle charge the battery to keep it ready for use. Follow the instructions included with the battery charger.
Keep the battery terminals free of corrosion. Clean the terminals regularly with a baking soda and water
solution and a plastic bristle brush. Coat the cable end lightly with petroleum jelly.
Do not allow the baking soda and water solution
Check the electrolyte level on non-maintenance free batteries at least once a month and fill with distilled
water. Do not overfill the batteries. Overfilling may cause terminal corrosion and short battery life.
Check all the wiring to make sure it is properly supported and the insulation is intact. Consult the engine
operator's manual for care and maintenance of the engine's electrical system.

Hydraulic Steering
If your boat is equipped with hydraulic steering, check hydraulic steering system for leaks and fluid level. If necessary,
tighten hose connections. Replace defective hoses. Refer to the manufacturer's manual for fill and maintenance
instructions.
