The Tides
Tides are the rise and fall of sea
levels caused by the combined
effects of gravitational forces
exerted by the Moon, Sun, and
rotation of the Earth. There are
multiple types of sea tides.
In most locations you will find
the 'principal lunar semi-diurnal'
sea tide. The period for one rise
and fall of the sea level is about
12 hours, 25 minutes and
14 seconds.
Setting the tides
You can set the tides according to
the location you wish to record on
your
watch. Of course the selected

coast has to have a 'twice-daily
tide' (the internet is a
useful tool to
find this information).
The best thing to do is to
synchronise the tide indicator with
the highest or the lowest level of
the water. For example: if you have
selected a coastal high tide at 14:15
hours, turn your tide indicator to
the highest water level at that time.
(the internet is a useful tool to find
the times for high and low tides for
the coast chosen).
In order to set the correct tide
carefully pull the crown out by one

. Turn the crown so that
