the center channel signal path and reroutes the bass to your subwoofer (or front channel speakers, whichever is best suited to handle such signals). • LARGE – Use if your center channel speaker is capable of handling bass frequencies and you want it to get a full range signal.
Page 31
• NONE - Maintains full dynamic range. • MEDIUM - Provides less compression than the “High” setting, but still limits the dynamic range • HIGH - Provides maximum reduction of dynamic range. Note: The compression setting has no effect on signals from music CDs or DTS encoded materials.
Page 32
This is usually not practical given the location of furniture and walls in your listening room. To compensate, the CL-2500 SSP allows you to delay the signals from the center and rear speakers so they will not arrive before the signals from the front left and right speak- ers.
Page 33
The options for center channel delay are 0,1,2,3,4 or 5 mil- liseconds. The options for rear channel delay are 0,5,10,15 milliseconds. Select the option closest to the delay that will work best with your room/speaker setup: • Set Center Delay — Turn the Select Knob to set the Center Delay to 0-5 milliseconds (ms) in 1 ms incre- ments, then press Enter.
Using the Noise Generator (Test Tone) To help you set channel level trims, the CL-2500 SSP is equipped with a Noise Generator, also known as “test tone generator.” The Noise Generator outputs a calibrated test signal to the front, center and rear channel speakers. Use...
Page 35
To compensate for these differ- ences, the CL-2500 SSP is equipped with level trims for each audio channel. We recommend that you use the built-in Noise Generator, a sound pressure level (SPL) meter, and critical listening to set these trims, and to ensure that all channels are equally loud.
